"the escape ", a pc based video game that takes place in Medzhybizh located in South Western Ukraine during World War II in 1941. A young Jewish girl, Lavana who is in her mid- twenties and her father, Zohar are forced into exile from their village to a judengasse also known as a ghetto. It was established solely for the purpose of enslaving Jews as laborers on the Bundesautobahn (known as a freeway in English terms) construction project ordered by Adolf Hitler. Zohar, a laborer amongst many others who are forced to live in the ghetto are killed in 1942 by the Einsatzgruppen (SS Death Squad) after the freeway is complete. Meanwhile Lavana escapes the Einsatzgruppen as she seeks refuge in the hidden tunnels of the castle at which she discovers during her days spent roaming the ghetto.

final thoughts on the release of, "the escape "
As of today 2-14-08 /1:05AM the demo has been released for download after 1 year in the making.
My goal was to create a game that most home computers could keep up with, but I cannot promise it will run on all as each machine varies. This is why I released the demo for those of you who want to try it on your system before purchasing the full version. The game was created on a laptop and was tested and retested on many other machines running on AMD processors with only 128MB + 256MB video cards. The memory of each machine varied from 384MB to 1GB.

VIRTUAL ART GALLERY in the design process.
This will be similar to navigating inside a video game only you will be walking directly into a gallery with classical music and of course art on display. I remember an artist from a gallery asked me during the summer of 2007, "Can you make a friendly game without the gore ?" I can make a virtual gallery. Screenshots are posted.

UPDATE: As I was sitting here thinking I decided my final gallery plans are to allow many visitors in at once in real time and those who are browsing the art can communicate with each other.

CHAT ROOM
Once the gallery is released I'm going to complete a virtual chat room project. Choose a theme, pick your character and meet with friends online in a game like setting. This will be in the future as I have ran into too much work during the present.

I will be working on the gallery again very soon as I have had to work back and forth between numerous projects at once. My purpose for the Art Gallery and Virtual Chat is to demonstrate that game engines can be used to create other things besides video games. It also gives those who may not be able to make it out to gallery night for a chance to view online instead. This is a great concept for colleges and galleries to display art work. It can be accessible to many more viewers.

GAME DESIGN
Some time ago I taught myself how to use this engine after I discovered and purchased it. It has a few small glitches like any other; however, I'm learning to expand it's capabilities and to force it to code a smooth running pc video game. Thanks to the guys who have built an update to remove unused entities & segments from the library. I usually get excited for free fonts and Photoshop plug ins, but this made me ecstatic! It works great as long as it is installed prior to the new level creation. If it is installed afterwards the gamecore files go silly (a gun that don't fire, a bullet hole that turns gray, smoke & fire decals that do not show, etc).

NOTE: While the dates and places of this storyline are based on some factual events in history during WWII, the main two characters and story pertaining to them are strictly fictional.
This game is not intended for a young audience as it does contain weapons and gore. I take no responsibility for irresponsible parents who do not monitor their child's video game play or internet usage.
